After graduating from Edinburgh College of Art with an MA in Costume Design, I began my career as a film based costume supervisor and designer. Shortly after leaving Scotland, I found myself in India, where I entered the colourful world of Bollywood. It was during my time in India that I was really able to explore my love of fabric and embroidery. After some fascinating years in Mumbai, I began to take on bridal gown commissions. Bridal design gave me the freedom to discover new silhouettes, pattern cutting techniques and fabric drape.

The grandeur and style of bridal wear was a natural fit for me, design-wise. I have always had a great love and interest in period costume, and many of my designs hark back to an historical silhouette. However, as you will see from looking at the collection, I also make it a priority to ensure that all my pieces have a contemporary edge.
